Our Sangha Stupa

The Schwarzenberg stupa is called the “sangha stupa“ because it stands for the reconciliation of the community of practitioners after conflicts at the time of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Alongside human teachers, books, pictures, symbols and also stupas convey the contents of Buddhism. Through their structure, their filling, the power of the initiation and their whole symbolism, stupas emanate a beyond- personal power. Our stupa as well contains relics of former Buddhas in addition to the the tsatsas, semi precious stones, medicine and many other things.

Out of the 8 forms for Buddhist Stupas, Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche chose the 6th for the Schwarzenberg, which is dedicated to the reconciliation of the community of the practitioners. The statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni visible on the outside stands for the complete liberation from the cycle of reincarnation and the sufferings associated with it. Its state of mind is the fulfillment of all wishes for happiness and therefore the goal of all Buddhist teachings and methods.

Worldwide, stupas are circumambulated in clockwise rotation, while mantras and wishes for the happiness of all are said or thought! At this point, we thank all friends and visitors from all around the world, who through meditation and mantras let this place become always still more powerful!
